The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community strongly condemns the shooting that has taken place at a night club in Turkey, and the bombings in Iraq, in which dozens of innocent people have been mercilessly killed.

National President of the community Mr Bashir Khan, condemning the attacks said, ‘While the motive behind the killings is yet to be ascertained, one thing is clear that by targeting Muslims and Islamic countries, these terrorists make it abundantly clear that their mission has nothing to do with Islamic teachings.

'As Ahmadi Muslims, we remain steadfast in our belief that all forms of terrorism and extremism are against the teachings of Islam, and we stand shoulder to shoulder with the innocent victims and their families, irrespective of their nationality or faith. The Holy Quran clearly states, that to kill even one innocent person is akin to killing all of mankind (Quran 5:33). Ahmadi Muslims in New Zealand and the world over will continue to pray that justice may be served to the perpetrators of the attacks, and that lasting peace prevails in the world.’

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, founded in 1889, is a dynamic, fast-growing international revival movement within Islam.

The New Zealand branch of this community was established in 1987. It is a registered charitable organisation and endeavors to be an active and integrated community within New Zealand society.
