"Islam teaches respect for all religions and their leaders, without Justice we can not achieve peace" said Imam Shamshad of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Glen Ellyn Chicago Area.

Coffee Cake and Islam events are taking place all over the USA.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has organized these events, to remove misunderstanding about Islam and Muslims, and to preach real Islamic teachings to public and individuals. These events were started a few months ago, and there have been many good experiences. Men, women even children are attending these events. These events are held regularly every week in big and small towns and cities of USA.

Such an event took place on January 7th, 2017 at Kirkendall Public Library in Ankeny, Iowa . The local chapter of Ahmadiyya Muslim community organized this event.

Imam Shamshad from Chicago Illinois was invited as a guest speaker. He was also accompanied by Mr. Mashhood Mirza. Besides members, non-Muslim guests were present and asked various questions.

The Theme of this event was " Muhammad The Mercy for all Mankind."

A Chinese friend asked questions about ISIS. Why do they call themselves Muslims while they don't follow Islamic teachings? Why Muslims are fighting among themselves and does Islam teach peace or terrorism?

Imam Shamshad and President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mr. Edin Bajrektarevic answered all questions to the satisfaction of the guests.

Imam Shamshad said ISIS does not represent Islam at all, in fact, ISIS hijacked Islam. Islam teaches peace, tolerance, harmony and respect to all religions and their leaders. Imam also mentioned that the example of the founder of Islam, Muhammad (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is not to harm anyone, but to show mercy to everyone without discrimination of race, color, and faith.

President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mr. Edin Bajrektarevic thanked all the guests especially those who had come from Illinois, to attend this meeting. The brochure  "Islam The religion of peace" and other literature was given to guests,

In these events coffee, cake and other refreshment are served and everyone is welcome to share his/her thoughts about Islam and to get proper answers.

  1. I am pleased to learn of this recent event in Ankeny! Wish I could be there: it is always a joy to hear Imam Shamshad speak to any group!

It is very necessary that the quiet, day-to-day actions of true Muslims be publicized as they go about strengthening the fabric of this great nation. Be it healing the sick. bringing up the young, or teaching life-skills to eager learners, peaceful Muslims are working for a better world every day! Events such as the Ankeny meet serve to dispel the false notion that Muslims are somehow at odds with progressive American concepts.

I have learned much from the website alislam.org, which I recommend to all readers!

    Peace to all!
