Organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, the Charity Walk For Peace brought the community together on National Children’s Day.

The significance of the date inspired Kyrsten Perry to raise money for Newham Giving.

The charity worker at the East End Community Foundation said that the walk was a chance to “put my money where my mouth is”.

She certainly managed that, and thanks to matched funding from the Charity Walk For Peace, Krysten, her husband, and her friend raised £2,350 for the organisation.

Newham Giving supports community projects that help families struggling to provide activities for children and young people during the school holidays.

Krysten said: “Last year in August I visited the summer activities funded by Newham Giving; they are so inspiring and make such a positive difference to the youth.”
