A special session scheduled at 4:00 PM on Saturday for recognizing the friends of the community
The 69th Annual Convention, Jalsa Salana, of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, USA, one of the nation’s oldest American Muslim groups begins in Harrisburg, PA. today.
After the flag-hoisting ceremony, the formal opening session began at 4:30 PM with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a special message from His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the supreme head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was delivered to the attendees by his brother and national president of the USA chapter of the community, Sahibzada Mirza Maghfoor Ahmad.
"The primary purpose of this Convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits," the community quotes its founder as saying over 125 years ago when the first 'Jalsa Salana' was organized.
The Jalsa Salana, being held at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex, will host a special session is scheduled at 4:00 PM on Saturday for recognizing the friends of the community and for those guests seeking information about Islam in light of recent world events involving Muslims.
Muslims and guests are attending from all over the nation.
