In today's world, misguided leadership is one of the significant contributing factors towards youth radicalization and extremism. In the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, under the worldwide divine leadership of His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, great emphasis is laid on proper education (both religious and secular) of its members, both young and old. Our mosques therefore not only serve as places of worship but they are also community centers where members socialize, make friends, hold interfaith events, participate in sports, have educational meetings and classes, and come together for various community services or humanitarian projects.

The local chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community now has a new mosque in Manassas, known as “Masroor Mosque.” A few months ago Imam Faran Rabbani was appointed to the Virginia region mosques belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Imam Faran Rabbani serves as a missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, the oldest Muslim organization in the United States, established in 1920. Under the direction and guidance of His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Khalifa of Islam, Imam Faran Rabbani’s responsibilities include teaching local Muslims about Islam, speaking at interfaith events and serving as a resource for Muslims and non-Muslims in Virginia. “Many Americans are deeply interested in learning about the true teachings of Islam,” said Imam Faran Rabbani, “and it is our responsibility to teach them in a loving and inclusive environment.”

I feel his appointment and presence at Masroor Mosque is significant not only for the members of the community but also for everyone in the area. By getting to know him and listening to him, everyone may learn more about the congregation at Masroor Mosque and thus feel welcomed and at home as neighbors and friends to stop by this place of worship.

Imam Rabbani holds a weekly Quran class every Tuesday. Goal of these classes is to educate and ensure that members learn and understand the correct understanding of the Quran. On alternative Fridays, he leads the Friday prayer and delivers a sermon at Masroor Mosque.

Please feel free to schedule a visit to the mosque or watch his sessions via YouTube channels “Masjid Masroor” of Manassas and “Masjid Mubarak” of Chantilly, to learn about Islam or for answers to any questions.
