Detroit Chapter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community welcomed the month of Ramdhan with Dars-ul-Quran after the Asr prayers on a Thursday  May 17, 2018. A large number of Community members gathered in Masjid Mahmood for the Asr prayers and Dars-ul-Quran till Sunset. In this Holy month we have everyday 5 times daily prayers, Quranic teachings, breaking Fast, dinner and Taraweeh prayers. Members of the community gathered everyday at 7:30pm and listen to the teachings of the Quran.

Imam Shamshad Nasir led the Dars-ul-Quran. He recited the Surat-ul-Fatiha and provided the details of the attributes of Almighty Allah and that the first chapter is the essence of the entire Holy Quran. Later he went onto cover many basics topics regarding the Holy month of Ramadhan, its significance and how members can benefit from the blessed month by not only observing the fast but also making sure most of their prayers are offered in congregation. He emphasized the daily recitation of the Holy Quran.

He quoted many Sayings of the Holy prophet and his traditions from his life, (PBUH) related to how he would prepare for the Holy month of Ramadhan and that his fervor for prayers and charity during the month would increase many folds.

As the month progresses, more and more members are joining in and enjoying and benefiting from the Daily Dars-ul-Quran. ( teachings of the Holy Quran) Each day, many members ask questions related to the topics covered during the Dars. Imam Shamshad provides answers to these questions in a very detailed manner.

During the daily Dars-ul-Quran, Imam Also provides many references from the Quran, Ahadith, sayings of the Promised Messiah (a.s) examples of companions of Holy prophet peace be on him and Khulafa of the Jama’at. Many stories are narrated from the lives of the prophets, Khulafa of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Khulafa of Hazrat Masih-e-Maou’d(a.s) and noted scholars of Islam Ahmadiyya.  which certainly create a great deal of impact and interest in the audience.

Repeated mention of the prayers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and when and how members can benefit from these prayers is certainly many are keenly interested in due to the Holy Month of Ramadhan.

Imam Shamshad Nasir takes up many Trabiyyat (moral training) topics during these Dars-ul-Quran sessions for example, respect to parents and elders, how to be useful in the society, how one can be helpful to the needy and poor section of the society, with a great deal of detail and interest. Topics from regularity in daily prayers, spending time in the remembrance of Allah to cleanliness and matrimonial harmony are covered on regular basis from the Holy Quran and Ahadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
