Holyland: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community holds Annual Convention in Kababer - Haifa


Muhammad Sharif, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the Holy Land, welcomed the guests and talked about the most important characteristic of this community of believers.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the Holy Land held its Annual Convention in Kababer, Haifa area in Israel, it has been reported.

The convention, affectionately referred to as Jalsa Salana, was held in the courtyards of Umar Mosque on Friday and Saturday, June 29-30, 2012.

Many delegates and outside guests from home and abroad also attended the convention.

The event, which began after the Friday prayers, started with ceremonial raising of Islam Ahmadiyya flag.

The opening session began in the afternoon in the hall of the Umar mosque in the presence of many delegations; including from Canada, India, Britain, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority.

Many guests including Ahmed Tibi, Chakib Shannan and some Druze sheikhs were also in attendence.

Muhammad Sharif, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the Holy Land, welcomed the guests and talked about the most important characteristic of this community of believers.

Saturday was dedicated for the guests from the Jewish sector of the region to learn about the Ahmadiyya community and a documentary was shown to highlight the achievements of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community globally and locally.

Also, in his speech, Sharif touched upon the Islamic and Arab reality in many respects.

Professor Amnon Lin of the University of Haifa, also spoke and talked about coexistence between Arabs and Jewin the city of Haifa.
