UK: Crawley's Ahmadiyya Muslim group condemns Haines murder


National president, Rafiq Hayat, described Mr Haines’ death as an “appalling act of evil” and stressed Islam’s tenets of love, respect and peace. He said the murder showed IS “has nothing to do with Islam or any religion. It is barbarity at its worst”.

Crawley Muslims have condemned the murder of an aid worker who was beheaded by Islamic State militants.

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, based in Langley Green, spoke following the murder of David Haines on September 14.

Abdul Jhafoor Javaid, president of the group, said: “Crawley Ahmadiyya Muslim community totally condemns the brutal murder of David Haines. We believe in love for all and hatred for none, as through the guidance of our Caliph, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, categorically rejects any violence what ever that may be, what ever their reasons.

“Our thoughts and prayed are with the family of David Haines.”

Mr Hayat added: “We stand united with people of United Kingdom in unequivocally condemning this gruesome killing and hope that those responsible are caught and face the full force of the law.

“May God provide solace and strength to the bereaved and to his loved ones. ”
