Ten Hufaz (those who have memorized the Holy Quran) at the Hafizul Quran School established by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at at Ilaro,Ogun State Southwest, Nigeria joined other young Hufaz in five states to participate in the just-concluded 29th National Quranic competition organised by Center for Islamic Studies, Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto held in Auchi, Edo State.
The Overall winner Female was Hadiza Taleemun of Plateau State who won a brand new Lexus Jeep and #500,000 . the Overall winner male, Mallam Yusuff Muhammad Baffa Daku of Gombe State, went home with brand new Toyota Jeep and #500,000 in addition to Edo State prices of brand new Toyota Avensis each for first and second male and female categories.
The representative of the Vice-President Namadi Sambo also announced cash prices for first to fifth in all categories for both male and female.
From Ahmaduyyah jamaat, there were seven males and three females who represented Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti and Edo States in various categories. Four male observers and two females were also present to watch the proceedings and get the necessary exposures to prepare them for the positive challenges of the competition.

Hafiz Abdus Salam Rif’at Pasha (Kaamil Edo State.), Mualim Hafiz Shakrullah Salahudeen (Kaamil Ondo State, Hafiz Shaid Ahmad Zakariyya (Kaamil, Ogun State), Hafiz Abdus Samad Obaditan, (Tanghim, Lagos State), Hafiz Abdul Tawab Ghazal, ( Tanghim, Ekiti State, Hafiz Abdul Majeed Musa ( 40Hisb, Ogun State), Hafiz Oyewale Abdul Basit ( 20 Hisb, Ekiti State). The observers were Hafiz Tayib Olayanju,Hafiz Habeeb Adeyemi, Hafiz Ibrahim Lawal, Hafiz Adeleke Abdus Soburi.
The females are Rashedah Badmus (Kamil, Ondo State, Mariam Ibrahim, Tanghim, Ogun State and Hibatul-Azeez Shittu, (20 Hisb, Ogun State ). Observers were Hanat Ogundoku and Roqeebah Jimoh.
Chairman of the occasion, His royal Highness, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Emir of Kano emphasized the need for Muslim to preach Islam and reflect its true teachings in their lives. Governor of Osun State advised participants to be torch-bearer of Islam as he believed that no one will read the Holy Qur’an and be found in anti-social activities.
