USA: Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosque holds blood drive to honor San Bernadino victims

Ahmadiyya community decries violence, holds prayer service in addition to blood drive

OLD BRIDGE - The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA urges calm after 14 were killed and 17 were injured.  In light of this horrific tragedy, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Central Jersey will be holding a prayer service and “Muslims for Life” blood drive to honor the victims of the San Bernardino attacks. The members of the community pray for the swift recovery of the injured and for the heroic San Bernardino county law enforcement officers.

"We continue to offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims," said a spokesman, Saima Sheikh, in a media statement.

The blood drive will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec.6 , at the Old Bridge “Baitul Hadi” Mosque,  27 South St, Old Bridge.

Leaders of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will be available to discuss an Islamic perspective on the situation. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans 206 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is among the oldest American-Muslim organizations.
