President-elect Trump did say hurtful comments about Islam and Muslims
As Ahmadiyya Muslims, we are patient, prayerful and extend our support to President-elect Donald J. Trump in working together for peace, progress and justice for all, domestically and abroad. Our response to his election should be orderly and dignified for the betterment of our compatriots and nation at large, without succumbing to any form of violence. In good faith, we as citizens congratulate Mr. Trump on being elected the 45th president of the United States.
Allah teaches us to “obey those in authority among you” in the Quran (4:60), regardless of who they are, and the Prophet Muhammad emphasized “love and loyalty to your country of residence is a part of faith.” This is Islam in its true form.
President-elect Trump did say hurtful comments about Islam and Muslims during his campaign. We hope he rectifies his misunderstandings while praying that he lives up to the rather sudden bridge-building promises he made during his victory speech. In light of the model of Prophet Muhammad, Messiah Ahmad, and our leader, Caliph Mirza Masroor Ahmad, we will win the hearts of our president-elect and newly elected officials through education of our universal message and unified peaceful action in safeguarding our God-given freedoms.
