A vandalism act towards Ahmadiyah followers was reportedly to have occurred again. This time, Al-Hidayah Mosque in Kebayoranlama, South Jakarta; which is believed to be a mosque belonging to Ahmadiyah; was damaged by a group of people early Friday (12/3) morning at 00.37 am.
Head of National Ahmadiyah Security, Deden Sudjana said the mosque, which is located on Jl Ciputat Raya Gang Sekolah No.18, Kebayoranlama, South Jakarta, was attacked by around 50 unidentified people. “They brought flags,” said Deden when met at the location, Friday (12/3).
According to Deden, the mob also carried sharp weapons such as machetes and choppers. They destroyed the mosque`s facilities, shattering glass windows and park lamps. “They were on foot to come here,” he told beritajakarta.com.
Fortunately, added Deden, there were two intelligence police officers stand-by at the mosque as the incident took place. They managed to drive away the mob by executing six warning shots.
“This is an uncivilized act, as the people destroy the house of God,” Deden added, adding that there was no fatality in the incident.
