Despite our differences, interreligious harmony can still be attained
if we stress our similarities. As a member of the oldest
American-Islamic organization — the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community — I wish
to express my reverence on this occasion for Jesus, son of Mary and the
prophet of God.

Jesus Christ, whose birth Christians celebrate on Christmas, is also a revered and respected figure in another religion — Islam. Islam requires Muslims to believe in all messengers of God because the Quran (16:36) states that all world religions were originally from God and their prophets served the peoples' spiritual needs. The current global inter-religious conflict is, therefore, a result of having moved away from recognizing people of other faiths as fellow humans who are the creation of the same one God.
Despite our differences, interreligious harmony can still be attained if we stress our similarities. As a member of the oldest American-Islamic organization — the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community — I wish to express my reverence on this occasion for Jesus, son of Mary and the prophet of God.
