Johnson City Cardiologist Dr. Afzal Ur Rehman,  left his native Pakistan in 1985.

As  a member of the Ahmadiyya denomination within Islam, Dr. Rehman opposes violence.

But the fatal shooting of Osama Bin Laden falls into a special category:  violence in the service of justice, which, he says, is justified.

"In this instance I feel that justice was served," said Dr. Afzal ur Rehman.

"And hopefully more than that, a message was sent that violence is not the answer, and eventually bad behavior will catch up with you."

Dr. Rehman said he was not surprised that Bin Laden was found in Pakistan, where, he says, a significant proportion of the population agrees with him.
