Pakistan: Three Ahmadi Muslims charged under blasphemy law

This is not the first time such cases has been registered against Ahmadis and the community does not expect this to be the last one. It is of note that since 1984, 298 Ahmadis have been charged under this law.

Rabwah:  An organized campaign of hatred and persecution of Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Pakistan has reached new heights where even the educational institutions are not  safe for Ahmadi students as well as teachers.

Three Ahmadis, a teenager student Sajeel Ahmed and his father Hakim Jameel from Khushab, and a head teacher Basharat Ahmad from Kunjah Gujrat were implicated in false and baseless blasphemy cases.

According to the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Pakistan, Sajeel Ahmed, a teenage student from Khushab, has been charged under PPC 295-C with an accusation of committing blasphemy against the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

His father Hakim Jameel has also been charged under PPC 298-C.

In another case in Gujrat, Master Basharat Ahmed has been charged under PPC 295-B for allegedly  disgracing the holy Qura'an.

According to the details of the incident, Mr. Basharat was accused of "throwing some books containing Arabic texts in to the school's pond" and thus committing blasphemy. In fact Mr Basharat had confiscated English books from some students who were cheating during an examination.

30 teachers with many other went to the police station to vouch for Mr. Basharat yet police refused and registered the blasphemy case against him, said the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim community claims that it is impossible for any Ahmadi Muslim to even think any ill about the holy and sacred Prophet Muhammad and every Ahmadi Muslim has deep respect and love with the Prophet Muhammad.

This is not the first time such cases has been registered against Ahmadi Muslims and the community does not expect this to be the last one.

"Such baseless cases against Ahmadis could never deter the Ahmadis," the community said.

It is of note that since 1984, 298 Ahmadis have been charged under this law.
