Democracy, freedom, human rights, social justice, pluralism, diversity and peace will be at the heart of discussions next Friday at a conference organized in Floriana, just outside the capital city Valletta in Malta.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Malta is organizing its annual Peace Symposium and Holy Books Exhibition, it was announced by Laiq Ahmed Atif, the community’s national president.
The organizers have invited several eminent speakers to tackle the relevant issues of the day including discussion about the role of religion in politics, place of religion in modern society, and role of religion in strengthening democracy.
The panel will also discuss issues of human rights, justice and social and moral values for today’s world.
According to the information made available the speakers will include, Hon. Simon Busuttil, Member of European Parliament; Hon. Evarist Bartolo, Member of Maltese Parliament and Ms. Angele Deguara of Malta Green Party; Fr. Edgar Busuttil SJ, representing Christianity; and H.E. Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Ayaz, representing Islam.
The program is slated to start at 6:00 PM on Friday, 16th March at the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Floriana.
Audience will have an opportunity to put any question to the panel and to share their comments.
A Holy Books Exhibition is also set to take place between 5 – 10 PM at the same location.
Refreshment will be served in the end.
The entrance is free and public is invited.
Ahmadiyya Community organises such meetings all around the world.
The aim of these gatherings is, according to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, to know more about the opinions of each other, and thus a better atmosphere of love, peace, harmony and understanding is developed.
