Banjar: Municipal Government (City Government) of Banjar, West Java, again sealed the Ahmadiyya Masjid Al Istiqomah on Wednesday (25/4) in Kampung Tanjungsukur, District Patamuran.
According to a report filed by Metro TV, sealing of Masjis Baitul Istiqamah was innitiated because the mosque remains active where the ‘Ahmadiyya teachings’ are continuously practiced.
This is the fourth time the location has been sealed, it was reported, because Ahmadis continue to offer salat (worship) at the location and it is anticipated that the Ahmadī residents will open the mosque and use it again.
The sealing led by Municipality government of the Ahmadiyya mosque is done to please the local extremist and militant Islamists, it has been speculated.
There are about 20 Ahmadi families in the local area and most others come from surrounding areas to offer prayers.
The closing of the mosque was accomplished by sealing the entrance gates, doors, and windows of the mosque with wood and bamboo sticks.
Workers were seen welding the metals doors shut at one of the mosque entrance.
According to the Television report, sealing process went smoothly because there were no Ahmadis present on the scene.
