Richmond Hill event promotes understanding
Everyone in the community is invited to an interfaith symposium: Creating Interfaith Harmony – What do leading religions say?
The Richmond Hill representatives of the Ahmadiyya movement in Islam are hosting the ninth interfaith symposium June 7, featuring speakers from Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths. The evening will be moderated by Richmond Hill Mayor Dave Barrow.
Prominent religious personalities will present their faith’s perspective on creating interfaith harmony. The aim of these symposiums is to provide the Richmond Hill multi-faith community a forum to understand different religions, share knowledge, promote tolerance and work towards living in peace and harmony – which is the prime objective of the Ahmadiyya community globally.
Following the presentations, there will be a question and answer session for those in the audience to ask and questions they may have.
The event will be held at Langstaff Community Centre on Red Maple Road north of High Tech Road in Richmond Hill, starting at 6:45 and continuing until 9 p.m. There is free admission, refreshments, registration and parking.
