The government sponsored hate and persecution of the Ahmadiyya community continue to cascade unabated, it was learned as the news of a purposefully inflicted damage to the Ahmadiyya property erupted in the social media few hours ago.

The minarets of Ahmadiyya mosque Baitul Hamad are knocked down in Kharian, a town in Gujrat District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

According to early reports, the action initiated by the extremist Islamists, was assumed by the Punjab Police and uniformed government personal who then actively participated in the demolition of the minarets and whitewashing of Kalima, the Islamic creed, from the Ahmadiyya building.

Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP), and Senior House Officer (SHO) of the Punjab Police in Kharian reportedly supervised the Islamists’ action that took place around 9.30 pm, local times and the Kalima was also erased.

The local police officers, DSP Kharian, Sultan Amir, and SHO Kharian, Rana Zahid Naeem, both personally supervised the erasure of the Kalima and minarets demolition work, it was further reported.

At the outset of the threat, several weeks ago, the Ahmadiyya community had approached the police, but the  protection was denied.

'Do as the masses want from you,' the community was told by the police.

Phone calls placed to the two police officers were not immediately returned.
