The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria ,Lagos State missionary ,Qasim Oyekola has joined the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to pray for the save return of the missing journalist, Alhaji Rasaq Gawat was declared missing by the Lagos State Police Command and his family over three weeks ago.
Leading the inter-denominational prayers at the Ladi Lawal Press Center, Missionary Oyekola urged Nigerians to continue to prayer for the missing journalist in private homes, office, Mosques and Churches and give Gawat family the faith, strength, and determination to push through the trying times for them.
He equally prayed Allah to shower His mercies on the family of Gawat, Nigerian journalists and the country at large to weather through these difficult times in the nation’s history, believing that “ in this special month of majesty, our prayers would be answered in manifolds.”
The leader of the Christian faith Reverend Dele Asaju and his team after the song of praise on God, offered prayers for the save return of Alhaji Gawat and protection of Nigerian journalists.
According to him, through the grace and mercy of God he is optimistic that the missing journalist will walk home safely to the admiration of his family.
In his welcome and closing address, the Lagos State NUJ chairman, Mr Deji Elumoye, advised journalists to be security conscious every where they found themselves and be vigilant at all times going by the nature of their jobs which made them venerable.

While extolling the good virtues of the ace broadcaster during Ramadan programmes and other Islamic events, he stated that everyone had missed the great contribution of the missing journalist.
