Residents can join the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at Baitul Baseer Mosque, 926 Evans Road in Milpitas, from 7-9:30 p.m. on Aug. 4 for an evening under the stars at the annual Iftar Dinner in the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal for Muslims, began on July 21, and is a time when Muslims all over the world refrain from food and drink from dawn to sunset and focus on increasing their worship, charity and positive actions to become closer to God.

The Iftar is a time that the community at large can come together and have a discussion about the significance of the month to Muslims around the world, and learn about the latest public interest campaigns being conducted around the country, including Muslims for Peace, Muslims for Life and Muslims for Loyalty.
