Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association planted more trees at a new country park in Ravensthorpe.

More than 50 volunteers from the Yorkshire branch of Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya converged on Dewsbury Country Park. They spent two hours planting some 2,800 trees. A year ago, the group planted 2,500 trees at the site.

Tree-planting is seen as important in Islam and the planting in Dewsbury is part of a national campaign by Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya to plant at least 30,000 trees each year. The country park is being built on the site of the former Ravensthorpe tip.
