The Bekasi city administration sealed the Al-Misbah Mosque, which was owned by Ahmadiyah followers, on Friday. The action came after the administration won a court case in Bandung State Administrative Court (PTUN).
Wielding an official letter of order from Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi, a number of officers, including from the Police, the Public Order Agency (Stapol), law department at the Bekasi cty secretary and Bekasi City public relations secretary came to the mosque.
The letter ordered that Al-Misbah Mosque in Pondok Gede subdistrict, Jatibening Baru district be sealed.
Sugianto, an official at the law department of the Bekasi City Secretary, said on Friday.
He said the city had previously sealed the mosque, but the followers broke it. He hoped the followers would not break the seal again. The city, he said, planned to make another legal effort if the seal was broken again.
“We have gone through a very long process. There have been the first and the second sealing, followed by an erection of a fence, another sealing and this resealing,” he said.
