Perspective: Kidnapped school girls in Nigeria

Families have been robbed of daughters and sisters, society robbed of its peace, a generation robbed of its future, civilization robbed of its humanity and faith robbed of its integrity.

Boko Haram’s kidnapping of schoolgirls leaves a spiralling effect. Families have been robbed of daughters and sisters, society robbed of its peace, a generation robbed of its future, civilization robbed of its humanity and faith robbed of its integrity. Even though Boko Haram acts under the guise of Islam, there is nothing Islamic about its beliefs or actions.

Stripping young girls of their rights to education and freedom is not fighting for the cause of humanity, let alone Islam.

No girls, or anyone for that matter, should go missing because of twisted beliefs or because of any other reason at all. There is nothing holy about their actions.
