Young members of the Keighley Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spent Saturday and Sunday this weekend raising money for the British Red Cross in the Skipton branch of Morrisons.
Thanks to their efforts and the generosity of the people of Skipton, they managed to raise a total of £380 for the charity.
Helped by three supervisors, a group of six children gave up their precious weekend for the good cause.
Organiser of the event and local youth co-ordinator for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, Dr Adeem Rubani, said: “As a local doctor, I have personally seen the good work the Red Cross do, from organising and training local people in First Aid to helping people around the world with their humanitarian work.
“We are all fortunate to live in a country where we are safe and our rights are protected. Last week was ‘Red Cross week’, and it was an opportunity for us to help this worthy cause, and we are grateful to the people of Skipton for their kindness.”
