While meeting the Nigerian delegation to the just concluded 48th annual conference of the Jamaat in UK, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad expressed deep concern about the wanton killings and destruction of lives and properties by the terrorists under the guise of Islam.
These attacks, according to Hazrat Ahmad, are capable of affecting the 2015 elections and divert the attention of government to sustainable development across the country, a nation he described as one of the great and potential country in the world in terms of human and material resources.
His Holiness admonished Muslims to demonstrate their love and support for the government and good people of Nigeria while appealling to Nigerian politicians to have the fear of God and served the people.
Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad commended the Nigerian media organisations who were accredited to cover the conference notably National Mirror Newspaper, Voice of Nigeria and Murhi International Television, MITV, for their high level of professional conduct before, during and after the event and noted the support of other media outlets who equally reported the activities of the Islamic conference as being sent to Nigeria .
Three senior Nigerian journalists; Sekinah Lawal, Assistant Editor, National Mirror Newspaper, Qasim Akinreti, Head Reportorial Corps, and Tunde Okunola, General Manager, MITV, were given Visa by the UK Embassy to cover the event.
They were joined by other journalists from Ghana, Gambia, Burkinafaso, UK, USA and Canada among others.
