India: Remembering Derwaish Khurshid Parbhakar | Ch. Maqbool Ahmad
After the Indo-pak partitions in 1948 Derwaish Khurshid Parbhakar moved to Qadian on the call of the 2nd Calipha and become a Derwaish, dedicating himself for the sake of the community.

Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifa-tul Masih 5th, stated a brief history of Khurshid Ahmad Parbhakr, Derwaish Qadian, in Friday Sermon in London
Qadian: Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifa Tul Masih 5th, offered funeral prayers in absentia and narrated a brief life history of Derwaish Khurshid Ahmad Parbhakar of Qadian on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Baitul Fatuh Mosque in London.
Derwaish Khurshid Parbhakar, son of Chaudhry Nawab Deen, was passed away on July 28, 2015 at the age of 94 in Qadian.
His Holiness told during the Friday Sermon that Derwaish Khurshid Parbhakar was an Ahmadi by birth who first visited Qadian in 1936 at the age of 15 and participated in a Question-Answer session with Hazrat Musleh Maood, Mirza Bashirudin Mahmood, the 2nd Caliph of Islam-Ahmadiyya.
For his return to Lahore, Khurshid Parbhakar found himself out of money for the fare so he went to Lahore on foot, covering a 95 Kilometer journey by walking from Qadian to Lahore.
At the age of 19 he joined the “Nizam-E-Wasiyyat", the Will System first initiated by the founder of the community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. He worked for Jama'at's farm lands in Sindh.
After the Indo-pak partitions in 1948 he moved to Qadian on the call of the 2nd Caliph and become a Derwaish, dedicating himself for the sake of the community. He pursued “Ratan Bhooshan and Parbhakar” degree. He got opportunity to translate Holy Quran in Hindi on the instructions of Hadhrat Mirza Bashir Uddin Mehmood Ahmad, the supreme leader of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at at the time. He had deep knowledge of Vaids, Geeta and Bible. He wrote many articles on Hinduism, Sikhism and Christianity. He gave 60 years in writing on different topics in the newspapers and magazines. He wrote a book, “Hakoomat-E-Waqt aur Ahmadi Muslman”, in 1963 which was published by Jama'at Ahmadiyya. He was a high level poet who wrote heart touching poetry.
He regularly offered five daily prayers even when he was unhealthy. Many of his dreams came true in his life. He educated his family and worked together in the agricultural field. He predicted about his own passing a month earlier and again reminded his family one week before his death.
He was married in 1944 with Alam Bibi, which was his first marriage. He had one son Muneer Ahmad who is in Pakistan. His second marriage was occured in 1956 with Aisha Begum of Hubli (India) and he has 5 sons and one daughter from the second marriage.
In Qadian Ex. Education Minister & ITI Board Punjab Chairman, Sewa Singh Sekhwan, Municipal Committee president Jarnail Singh Mahal, Local SHO Harit Sharma, Baba Deepa and many other prominent personalities came to Derwaish Khurshid Ahmad's family to expressed their condolence.
Ex Education Minister said in a statement that Derwaish Khurshid was not only for Jama'at Ahmadiyya, he was the man of humanity who dedicated his whole life for the other peoples and Derwaish Khurshid had vast knowledge of other religions, which led him to write for the betterment of different communities. Minister Sekhwan further stated that the person who left us is a heavy loss for all of us. He further said that today spirit of Derwaish Khurshid remains among us and his literature leads us to true path and his memories will remain in our minds.
Many Indian and foreigner delegates who come to Qadian to visit holy places of the Promised Messiah, they also pay visit to the Derwaishan-E-Qadian.
