Members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from all over the USA attended the 67th Ahmadiyya Muslim Ahmadiyya Convention held at the Farm show Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for three days from August 14th to August 16th.

The convention is no ordinary convention for Ahmadi Muslims, it is a place to learn about about Islam, and to socialize in a religious atmosphere.

Many members from Chicago, Glen Ellyn, Bloomingdale, Hinsdale, Glendale Heights, and many other suburbs reaching traveled to the convention where the number of attendees went well over 8000.

The Imam of the Glen Ellyn chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Imam Shamshad Nasir spoke on the first day of the convention and during his speech he shed light on the topic of "Living by Our Creed…," referring to the Islamic creed, 'LaIllaha Ilalah', meaning there is no god but God.

Imam said it is easy to say LaIllaha Ilalah verbally, however to act upon it appears to be very difficult. "Those who truly embraced LaIllaha Illalah and inculcate the love of His Unity in their hearts gave great many sacrifices."

"Looking at the history of Islam of 1400 years ago and reviewing the sacrifices that the Holy PROPHET Muhammad (SAW) and his followers made," Imam Shamshad said, "such examples are nowhere to be found with the exception of the persecution endured by the Ahmadiyya Community."

"The difficulties that were endured by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) are a direct reflection of his true Love for the ONE God that was his God," Imam further said, adding, "Similarly the Companions of the Holy Prophet (SAW) embraced and endured throughout the advent of Islam, and stuck to the acceptance and love for the ONE God that was unparalleled."

Imam spoke for about one-half hour and a videos of his complete talk is added below.

Also, at the convention, along with numerous other attractions throughput the convention, such as book fair, ethnic foods stalls, novelties, etc., the Abdus Salam Science Fair was held on the second day. The Abdus Salam Science Fair is a science fair named after the Ahmadi Muslim, Abdus Salam, who won the Nobel Prize.
