The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of New York will host a symposium under the title, “Religion, Freedom and Peace,” during the coming week to present the true message of Islam

The program will feature two presentations, one on the theme and the other on the concept of true Islam.

The two-hour event will atart at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Scandinavia House, 58 Park Ave, New York, NY 10016.

The community says misrepresentation of Muslim values by both Muslims and non-Muslims has grown increasingly common over the past two decades. "The fundamental teachings of Islam, which are rooted in peace, coexistence, humility and personal betterment have been twisted, further deepening mis-perceptions and misunderstandings about the teachings of Islam."

"As Muslims dedicated to peace, tolerance, and coexistence, the Ahmadiyya Muslims will address some of these issues in the symposium and highlight the peaceful nature and beliefs of Islam-Ahmadiyya," the event handout stated..
