USA: Ahmadi Muslim Women, USA, Condemn the Barbaric Killings in Orlando Night Club

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association (AMWA), the largest and oldest Muslim women’s association in the US, offers its deepest condolences to the victims of the tragic and horrific shootings that took place on Sunday, in Orlando, Florida. AMWA unequivocally condemns such senseless killings, which have no basis in the teachings of Islam. The Qur’an holds all life as sacred and says, “…whosoever killed a person — unless it be for killing a person or for creating disorder in the land — it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and whoso gave life to one, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind” (5:33).

"We the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association are horrified at the barbaric shooting incident that took place this morning in Orlando,” said Saliha Malik, National President of AMWA, USA.  “Such ruthless acts of violence affect us all and darken our world. Our sincere thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with the victims and their families,” she further added.

We pray for the lives lost and for the speedy recovery of those injured in this barbaric act of violence.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association, USA is a nationwide organization, which was established in1936. The association serves as the women’s auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and is the oldest and largest Muslim women’s association. It has 72 chapters across the country with a membership of 5000 women and 900 girls aged 7 to 14.
