HALIFAX – A Muslim group is taking its message about Islam to Halifax today as part of a cross-country educational tour.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama at Canada has launched a national campaign called #MobileMuslims.

The tour began last week in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The group is going coast-to-coast to inform people about the peaceful teachings of Islam and debunk misconceptions about the religion.

Organizers say Muslims need to help people understand Islam at a time when extremism is gaining ground.

The tour is expected to last about 40 days and visit more than 25 Canadian towns and cities.
